Dr. Ryan Van Vliet

Veterinarian


Dr. Ryan Van Vliet is a local born and raised in Vernon, NJ. He grew his love for animals from a young age as his home was always full of dogs and exotics. He first gained his Associate’s degree in Biology from Sussex County Community College, then went on to get a Bachelor's degree in Biology with a minor in Environmental Science from Centenary University.

While going to school he grew his animal knowledge by shadowing & working at various veterinary clinics, working at a local pet store, and participating in research through school. He then received a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine by attending Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in St. Kitts and completing his clinical year at University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine. In his clinical year he gained experience working not only with domestic animals but a variety of zoo and exotics including large cats, reptiles, amphibians, birds of prey, and small mammals. His veterinary interests include mainly small animals and exotics with some interest in large animals as well. In his free time he enjoys video games, hiking, scuba diving, working on his farm, and taking care of his dogs, goats, pigs, horses, and a variety of exotics.
